Data Breach Graphic

We have been notified that some student data for Dixon Public Schools students has been breached via the Northwestern Illinois Association.  The number of students and families is limited and the data breached is of limited scope.

The Northwestern Illinois Association is a Special Education Cooperative, specializing in services including Audiology, Vision, Physical Therapy, Autism Assistance and Behavior Analyses. They provide important services to a subset of Dixon Public School students, and they will be communicating directly with families regarding the breach and will share options open to affected families.

Dixon Public Schools has some active students included in the breach, as well as some graduated students and students that have transferred out of school.

Identity theft, ransomware, and other cybercrimes are more prevalent than ever before. Dixon Public Schools takes responsibility to our families seriously, and we work hard to keep our data secure.  We limit the use of external systems to minimize our exposure and have protocols and tools in place to safeguard our environment.
