High School Parents and Guardians,
Tuesday (3/10) is a School Improvement (SIP) day. The informational outline below identifies the multiple events that will be occurring simultaneously throughout this half day session.
A. Practice PSAT and SAT in preparation for state mandated testing. 7:45 – 11:00
1. Freshman will be taking a practice PSAT 8/9 assessment on 3rd and 4th floor.
2. Sophomores will be taking a practice PSAT 10 assessment on 1st and 2nd floor.
3. Juniors will be taking a practice SAT assessment in Lancaster Gym.
Student SIP Goal
The PSAT and SAT are measures of college and career readiness. The goal of these practice assessments is to give our students a better understanding of the questioning strategies and time required to complete these tests. This will better prepare them for the official state mandated testing in April.
Staff SIP Goal
As a staff we will use this baseline information and compare it with a previous practice test. This will lead up to the official state testing in April. Multiple standardized measurements to assess student comprehension will provide an indicator of the effectiveness of our current curriculum.
B. Seniors
· WACC students need to be at the High School Parking lot at 9:25 to ride the bus.
· Non WACC students are expected to choose one of the following options:
1. College visit day - Students are to provide the office with information on the college they plan to visit by 3/9.
2. Community Service - Students are to provide the office with information describing their community service and verification of completion the following day (3/11).
